Place of Joy
POJ was the first center to be established with Naledi's involvement. It was initiated, and built in Maun by local members of the Women’s Ministries Department, Botswana Union Mission. They raised funds (through various means like selling their personal cattle), submitted proposals and received funding from government authorities to construct the center. The first stage which consisted of 2 classrooms, administration rooms and a hall was built in 2007 and care for vulnerable children started full time later that year. Later, Naledi and Naledi's friends (an Australian volunteer team called Empowered) built two more classrooms and a toilet block, which was completed later in 2011. Today, over 60 children receive early childhood care and support.
